Photographer Doug Siegel captures life behind the lens of a camera. Over the years he has created a diverse body of work on assignment and just shooting for the love of photography. It must be said, he thrives on adventure in every culture and climate, in the moment or away from the crowd. He goes after the photo and takes a journalistic stance on existing in the moment. Doug started taking a camera everywhere on his travels and it has evolved into a working profession.

Siegel benefited from his high school acclaimed photo program with Wylie Ferguson. He then attended the University of Vermont where he further honed his skills with a Design/Photo minor while majoring in Economics. After college he continued his photo education in the field while living in New Zealand, Portland, Boulder, Asheville, and San Diego. Doug attended graduate school at Xavier University earning a MBA in an effort to combine art and a good business sense. Doug also works part-time as a Brand Manager for Delegat Wine Group.

Doug currently freelances/strings for Concert Photos Magazine, Jambase, Live for Live Music, Relix, Getty Images (Corbis), Press Line Photos, Down the Road Show, The Examiner, Executive Studios, Front Row Focus, Sly Vinyl, Rolling Stone.com, Seattle P.I., Cincinnati Enquirer, Nashville Tennessean, AP, Citybeat, Cincygroove, MTV, VH1, The Blue Indian and several other outlets. The last few years Doug has done lots of projects/work in the music industry and has photographed most major touring bands and small local favorites. A big breakthrough occurred in the music photography business while living in San Diego working as a staff photographer for Live Nation covering Los Angeles and San Diego. Siegel worked on two partial tours documenting live music with Pearl Jam and My Morning Jacket last spring. He also currently has two photos featured in Pearl Jam’s First International Photo Exhibition in Milan, Italy.

Siegel covers major music festivals around the United States including Bonnaroo, Mountain Oasis, Moog Fest, Hangout, Forecastle, Wanee, Bunbury, Beale Street Music Festival, New Orleans Jazz Fest, Riotfest, Lollapallooza and more. The pit is a fun place to see and photograph your favorite bands. When music is your passion and you are right in the middle of the action, life is good! Doug is currently based out of Cincinnati, Ohio where he spends lots of time with his 10 year old, Evan.
